Bangon Pinas.!

A SONA day that wasn't declared a holiday. Many have been negative about it, reasoning that they want to witness PNoY's first SONA, but in reality they just want an excuse to not have to go to school or get a week-long vacation in the process. Filipino mentality. Tsk.
I was at work while reading the SONA (there's the net), I must admit I was dumbfounded by the many debts our country is facing. I am quite aware that we have debts, but this much? That is just outrageous. It keeps me wondering how in the world can our president manage to settle all the debts within his term of presidency. If he is able to do it, then praise the Lord!
To be honest, this is my first time to be actually interested in the SONA of a certain president which I didn't vote for in the first place. For me, Noy is the symbol of hope, a beacon of light shining through for us Filipinos. I wanted so much for him to be successful in making the Philippines face a brighter future, a country which can compete with the first world-countries, and no longer have to endure the title of being known as a third-world country.
PNoy is asking for our help, he cannot do this alone. Filipinos clamor for a better government, a better leader, a better Philippines. They want a leader to let them escape from their sad lives. Now tell me, what have they done for themselves anyway? Do they know the word discipline to begin with? Can they obey the rules? You see the sign on the streets "Wag tumawid nakamamatay", they still cross and blame the police when an accident occurs. You see "Wag dumura sa riles", and they spit like there's no tomorrow. Simple rules, they cannot follow. What more if a president asked you to help him, what can you do? If PNoy fails to meet the Filipinos expectations, you expect rallies and pretty soon, PNoy being ousted from his position. That's the thing with filipinos, you want people to make it work for you without having to get even a drop of sweat on his brow.
This is a two-way process, I believe that Noy can help us, but please let us help him too. It takes two to make it work. Bangon Pilipinas.
